A complete view of your teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures helps
Dr. Tyler Elison provide informed, personalized dental care.

A panoramic dental X-ray captures your entire mouth in a single image, including your teeth, jawbones, jaw joints, and nearby structures. This broad view can reveal concerns that may not be visible during a routine examination.
Dr. Elison may recommend panoramic imaging to evaluate:
Panoramic images complement traditional dental X-rays, which provide more detailed views of individual teeth and smaller areas.

Unlike traditional dental X-rays, panoramic imaging does not require a sensor to be placed inside your mouth. You will remain still while the scanner gently rotates around your head, capturing the image in just a few moments.
Once complete, Dr. Elison can review the image with you and explain any findings or treatment recommendations.
Panoramic X-rays use a low level of radiation and are taken only when they provide useful diagnostic information. Our team follows appropriate safety precautions throughout the process.
Panoramic X-rays are not usually needed at every appointment. Their frequency depends on your age, dental history, symptoms, and treatment needs.
A panoramic X-ray provides a broad view of the entire mouth and jaws. Traditional intraoral X-rays show smaller areas in greater detail. The two types of imaging are often used together.
